PLEASE NOTE: This ol' web site is 11 years old, and is about to retire. Please visit our new website at: https://www.teatroparaguasnm.org ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Greetings! I wanted to let you know what is happening with Teatro Paraguas as the new year unfolds and we are still in the midst of the pandemic. I have been visiting the theatre once a week or so during the past eight months to check the mail and pay the bills, etc. If you listen closely in the darkened theatre, you can hear the faint echo of applause from so many performances over the last decade… From trodding the boards, Teatro Paraguas now turns to Zoom and to Xerb.tv to provide meaningful theatrical experiences. These new media require a learning curve, and understanding what works and what doesn’t, and what is feasible in these new formats. We have launched a number of plays by New Mexico playwrights on Zoom, e.g Hunker Down and Love in the DMZ. We are starting to upload plays from previous seasons on Xerb.tv, along with current projects such as Red Bike and ongoing poetry readings. And we are beginning to host other companies on our Xerb.tv channel, e.g. Blue Raven Theatre and Julesworks Follies. So please check here on our website for news of upcoming projects. And please feel free to send us feedback or suggestions art teatroparaguas@gmail.com! And thank you very much for your support! With your gracious help, the magic of theatre flows onwards!
