Phil Woods has been writing poetry since 1967 when he scratched his first poem on a brick at a construction site. Including chapbooks, Phil has published nine books since he received his MFA from the U. of Oregon in 1983. His poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. He has twice been nominated for Pushcart. Since 2006 he has acted and written with the award winning Romero Theater Troup, which was recently profiled in the documentary Unbound. To Understand: New and Selected Poems is his 10th book.

Debbi Brody’s strong voice ranges from narrative to lyric, short to lengthy, grief filled to joyous, inner to outer landscapes and politics. The deep influences of the surrealist, modernist and beat poets sing through this collection of clear, tough, tender and fantastical poems. She has been writing since she could hold a piece of chalk and has been widely anthologized and published in literary journals. She has two full length poetry collections published by Village Books Press (OK) and two self-published chap books.

The voyage of discovery lies not in finding new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
