SUNDAY JULY 15 at 1:30pm

Holly Wilson has been writing poetry since she was a teenager. She published three chapbooks in her 20's, but has now published her first "real" book. "Assorted Snapshots" is a collection of poems she wrote in the 70's, 80's, and 90's organized around ten different themes. They symbolize her earlier "pre-renaissance" poetry written before she went through a dry spell while living in San Diego. Each section of the book focuses on one of the themes, and includes a photo of her that represents the theme, an essay that talks about why the topic is important to her, and several poems related to that theme. Holly will be reading a selection of poems that represent the ten themes, ending with four performance pieces that incorporate drumming and dancing. Copies of “Assorted Snapshots” will be available for $10. Her reading will be followed by a poetry circle in which each poet is invited to share one poem.
